It you can look at the sun without instinctively squinting, then there shouldn't be anything to worry about.

the sun looks amazing while its super smokey. But i was wondering if i can look directly at the sun while its so smokey could i just take a picture of it with my camera. I wanted to ask just in case i end up destroying my camera. thanks for anyone who drops by.

I Use my knowledge as business owner and self taught technician aswell as an AI to help people. AI might be controversial but it actually works pretty well 90% of the time.

No. Don't ever look at the Sun through a lens system unprotected. Even with solar filters or special solar lenses, still exercise caution. Looking directly at it with your bare eyes is already not recommended. Remember how you can burn newspapers with a mere magnifying glass? You don't need that on your eyeballs.

The conditions are unpredicatble and can change on a whim. If you really want to try and take a picture, at the very least use liveview focussing so you only risk burning your camera and not your eyes.
