Recommend me a Linux Distro

Go to solution Solved by A/C,

Just normal use (Youtube, Surfing the web, and typing and printing papers for school) i will be duel booting it so i can switch back to windows when i game(Which is only a few hours a week)

well then any of the mentioned oneswould be great. I hope you have the time to try them all out because all of them are truly great. My no1 choice for that would be ubuntu, but you may like something else more. The good thing is that they are all free and you can try them without installing them to a partition with live cd.

I would like to switch to linux on my desktop. I have messed around with linux a little so i know the basics. I want it to look really nice and sharp. What Distro should i go with?

I'd suggest learning with Mint perhaps.

What do you plan on doing with it. Off the top of my head I can recommend: Ubuntu (as the best overall experience), Zorin OS (best windows-like experience), Mint (best if you don't like Ubuntu, cinnamon version looks really good), and OpenSUSE. I personally prefer Gnome, but KDE is also good. But the best implementation funcionality-wise is the Unity from Ubuntu, cinnamon looks best IMHO.

Also we use some Zorin OS PCs in my office and they are POS in printing department. 100 problems every week, from random driver wipes, random device wipes, 1 page a minute print jobs etc... :D

Intel 4770k@4.6GHz, ASUS ROG Maximus VI Hero, Kingston HyperX Beast 2x8GB 2400MHz CL11, Gigabyte GTX 1070 Gaming, Kingston HyperX 3k 240GB - RAID0 (2x120Gb), 2xWD 1TB (Blue and Green), Corsair H100i, Corsair AX860, CoolerMaster HAF X, ASUS STRIX Tactic pro, Logitech G400S, HyperX Cloud II, Logitech X530, Acer Predator X34.
