New Build in Progress! Love to hear opinions!

Budget (including currency): ~$600 USD to $800 USD

Country: United States

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Battlefield 2042, Rust, Ark, Hell Let Loose, Etc.

Other details Reusing RX 480, EVGA 550 W PSU, 1080p 60hz monitor

Hello! I'm getting into a new build for this summer while trying to mismatch old parts and new parts from a previous build to hopefully navigate the price markups on a lot of the tech out there these days.

My build is here https://pcpartpicker.com/user/TechyNoob/saved/LVt28d

But I'll list the main parts out for you.

Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 Ghz 6 Core

MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard

Crucial Ballistix 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory

Team CX2 1 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive

Phanteks Eclipse P300A Mesh ATX Mid Tower Case

Along with these parts, you can see that I'm going to reuse some from an old build. I would like to ask please leave any opinions on  if there are better options for SSD's (I'm not well read on which SSD's to get but understand they are better), motherboards, ram, and anything else you see. Thanks for your opinion!

would you like to spend $20-30 more to get a decent nvme ssd like sn550?

SSD's allow your system to just be snappier and load games faster. With that said, normally I recommend getting an NVME with a dram cache, as they are faster and typically not too much more compared to standard SSD now a days. Here are a few options:

Kingston A2000

ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro

Mushkin Pilot-E

Do you plan to upgrade the CPU to 5000 series down the line? If so I would recommend a higher end mobo. Something like MSI B550-A PRO or Gigabyte B550 AORUS ELITE.

Looks good! If I had to be really picky, these are my gripes:

• The motherboard isn't rated spectacularly for VRMs, but with a 3600 that won't be a big concern

• You could technically go NVMe, but for this budget I understand the weight of each dollar.

That RAM kit is my all-time favorite, and the P300A is a fantastic budget option with added fans - I'm actually using both of these in my latest build, so great minds think alike.

Would you recommend the kingston or the adata for a NVME? Defs should think about the mobo upgrade. Thanks for the input!

If they're the same price the ADATA one is faster.
