Finding an ASUS ROG Swift PG279QM (USA)

Might need a broader net.  Sometimes stuff is available in one country but not another.  I’m seeing people in India building machines with 5950s which have been unobtainium some places because while they can get 5950s 5900s cannot be found there.  This seems to be an issue with the review sample system.  A reviewer might get a product that isn’t actually usefully available in an area the reviewer is in.

Has anyone at all been able to find a retailer in the US that's selling an ASUS ROG Swift PG279QM? I know the launch got pushed back to July 9th, but I still can't seem to find it anywhere.

 

I'm also curious to see if the monitor is available elsewhere in the world.

It's entirely possible that I misinterpreted/misread your topic and/or question. This happens more often than I care to admit. Apologies in advance.

Did only one search and a monitor with almost the same code name (no m) popped up as in stock on Amazon.  I take it the m makes it different.  Manufacturers play games with code names.  I have no idea if the thing Amazon has in stock is actually even similar. 

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

The PG279Q is an older model that came out in 2015(?). Close, but no cigar.

See, different. Might have been a paper launch.  That happens too.

This... was so simple. Yet it worked.

 

Hardware Unboxed reviewed it, so I checked Australian sites. Turns out PBTech's global store has it in stock for international delivery. Though above MSRP and probably an arm and a leg for shipping...

 

Guess I'm holding out. Or exploring alternatives.

PBTech tech seems to think there is a supply problem or they wouldn’t be over msrp.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.
