AKG K240 Studio early review

bob345

Well, i have had these akg k240's for about a week and they are simply amazing for the price. Now one thing to keep in mind when purchasing is that these headphones are open air so there is no amount of passive noise canceling at all. The open air design gives these headphones a very open sound and a wide sound stage. Its almost like listening to a pair of near field monitors. With these you get a sense of space and don't have the effect of the music or sounds coming from inside you head. These headphones are also built very well even though they are mostly plastic. They are light weight and yet they still feel like they are built like a tank. These are also some very comfortable headphones, i have had them on for hours at a time and these never felt straining or uncomfortable. Another great feature that is almost never seen on headphones in this price range is the removable mini xlr cable. That right there is a very important feature to me as if the cable ever fails, all you have to do is buy another cable which is fairly cheap and easy to swap out. As for sound quality, they perform very well for what they cost. They have a very neutral or balanced sound overall with no real emphasis on treble or bass which on some headphones can be overpowering. Overall, This is a great buy and i highly recommend these headphones.
