Would you rather? (PC Builds Edition)

Personally, I built the second setup and I'm very happy with it. The drawbacks: I only have a stock cooler, but it's actually performing insanely well? Very surprised. Benefits? It felt like I had a lot more options with the motherboards, and this made me feel like they would have a lot more around if I needed replacements down the road.

I think I overspent on the FireCuda, but then again, I've read nothing but good news about its reliability and the Sabrent I've seen nothing but issues for online. Memory wise? I just went with what gave me the best bang for the buck that I could pickup instock same day at my local B&H. Package theft is a real problem in my building so I was looking to avoid that kind of issue.

They also have an amazing (Not shilling I promise) 30 day no questions return policy. Great for RMA's if parts aren't working.

I could have definitely gotten the 750w MPG, but it didn't come up on the B&H website when I did my search initially. (Not sure why, I probably glossed over it.)

Building in the Q300L was pretty nice. I definitely should've confirmed which brackets i needed to remove for my GPU.. I also should've put the GPU in AFTER wiring up everything else.. God my hands aren't small enough to fit between that powersupply and GPU but I figured it out somehow.

Which build would you pick from the two I've listed, and why? Post two comparable builds of your own and see what people pick.

Depends on what you plan to do.

For gaming, after you get a decent GPU, I wouldn't go for either of the CPUs, Id go for a 10600K or a 11400. The SSDs arent going to be a good value for gaming, as the advantages would be loss (Gaming at this moment barely have a difference even over a good SATA based drive anyways, and Gen4 isnt really worth it, and probably wont be for awhile), So a budget or Midtier is probably good enough, such as the MP33 or SN550. less memory (can easily upgrade anyhow, and most games arent taking above 16GB). The issue with that Sabrent drive? QLC, which for most, isnt that good. Everything else seems pretty reasonable.

For Productivity, Id probably go something similar to build 2, or a build using a 10600K, id probably grab the cheapest 3200Mhz CL16 RAM, and the SSDs, there are probably a lot of choices here.

Nope

Unlocked cpus are expensive

11th gen can be significantly more expensive than 10th gen

Non k i7 and i9 have similar boost clocks to the k variants

Always yeet case for the cheapest mesh option

Following these ^^^

I can fit a 10 core 10900f which is cheaper than a 5800x and trounces it in single (assuming locked max boost clk in bios) and multicore

I can upgrade the board to a z490

And i can keep the ssd instead of downgrading to an sn550

Lmao this modified version of the first build demolishes both builds and then some

Though if i were to pick between the 2 id go intel cause i like ocing and ill be comfortable pushing the 11600k to 1.6v instead of the 1.5v on ryzen
