HDMI to VGA

Hi I was wondering if there was any way to get 75hz or higher through a HDMI to VGA adapter as my GPU has no VGA outputs and my monitor is only VGA input.Thx

so simple enough it's impossible VGA only support 60Hz, but you still can convert the connector with cheap adapter (still only 60Hz), there is no way to overclock it or something else

VGA is analoge and it will support anything the monitor can take or the GFX card can provide.

 

Back in the days of CRTs anything under 70Hz was considered unusable/unsuitable for desktop work.

not sure if there is a straight adapter for HDMI to VGA but i know you can do HDMI to DVI and you can do DVI to VGA. i have some old DVI ones lying around from back in the day when it was new hottness. You can prob still find them online

Anything that goes from HDMI to VGA needs a A-D conversion. DVI has 3 sets of signals (simplified) 1st digital channel pretty much the same as HDMI so a simple passive converter will do. 2nd digital channel used for resolution >1920x1200@60Hz you need something active to convert from or to HDMI (combining the 2 channels).

3rd set is just the VGA signal hence you have those cheap passive adaptor that will just pass through the analoge output coming from the GFX card to an 15pin plug.

 

Many monitors (that still have DVI) have these physically plugged as the won't take anlog signals (and you will need a DVI-D cable with these pins removed). Any dumb DVI-HDMI adaptor will be DVI-D with the analog pins missing/blocked.

You need HDMI to VGA active Adapter or HDMI to VGA passive Adapter my was (DisplayPort to VGA Adapter ) I forgot which one I have their are some with no extra power needed and some with 3.5mm audio jack. I also used DSR setting on NVIDIA control panel to help with the resolution size before that I was using a 2nd computer with spacedesk.

Well i use Vga on LCD TV so yeah, i never use CRT

Oh no, I have several 4:3 LCDs for retro computing they'll do 75hz on VGA but only 60hz on DVI.   You're thinking MODERN displays.
