It does. Gaming on my htpc with my Ducky Shine 3 is a pain in the butt.

you still have the tactile feel even if the speed is gone

I bought that keyboard a few weeks ago, for when I feel like couch gaming. So far it's been a bit of a wasted purchase since I haven't done too much gaming from my couch so far, but whatever, I got a good bonus/raise this year. It's nice to have the option if I get sick of my office chair. xD

I use it about 4-5 feet away from the PC on a lap table and it seems to work fine, I don't seem to notice any lag or missed keystrokes. It's my first Cherry MX Brown keyboard, so I can't compare it to other Brown switch keyboards, but I'm finding that I much prefer the Cherry MX Reds on my desk. I don't know if that's a sign of lower quality of my keyboard or whether I just don't like typing on Cherry MX Browns.

One of the reviews I read advised against installing the wrist rest that comes with it, since it's uncomfortable, cheap, and pretty hard to remove once you get it on there. So keep that in mind if you feel like buying it.

Speed? I think mechanical keyboards are more about the tactile feedback than the speed. I think the speed you gain from switching to one is from the tactile feedback.

To be honest, the difference between wired and wireless from a desk to a computer sitting next to it is almost negligible. Now if you were using that keyboard 50 feet away, then you'd want a cord, but who the heck does that?

Old shit no one cares about but me.

I agree with those saying people will most likely spend the money on mechanicals for the feel rather than the speed. Unless you're 13 and a gamer and have a 1440Hz monitor and a new Razer keyboard and believe in that kind of stuff.

Outside of the school of thought dictating "it hasn't been done, it can't be done," how does that not make sense?

I just don't get all of this mechanical keyboard BS.  I use Inland wireless keyboard sold in Microcenter and I believe I payed $14 for it.  I've go to say it's the best wireless keyboard I have ever owned.  It's crazy responsive almost too much...LOL!!! and typing is pure joy.  It makes my fancy shmancy acrylic Enermax keyboard and Logitech perform like garbage.  I can't say for how long it's going to last but so far so good.

Stop before you regret opening up this can of worms, people are silly when it comes to keyboards and saying that they are bullsh*t is just asking for them to jump down your throat. I agree that mech keys are good to type on but so are quality domes and I personally prefer scissor keys myself but there are people who flat out will not touch membrane keys and think anyone who doesn't like mech keys is stupid.
