Clean the dust in your cooling system with compressed air or something, cause 95c is not an idle temp for any laptop or desktop.

And make sure youve installed the cooling system correctly and spread the thermal paste till it covers the cpu and gpu cause those dont have ihs in laptop so if you miss a spot then youll run into heat problems, so no dot method or crap like that, just spread till it covers the entire die with a plastic spatula or your finger.

I have cleaned the dust before I even changed thermal paste. Yes @Somerandomtechyboi  the thermal paste is covering both cpu and gpu die fully. @jaslion Even I think my cooling system is broken. It's a MSI laptop . I bought it at time when it was cheap and performance was great for the price. I don't know what to do further.

What laptop with what specs? Did you put enough thermal paste on it? Like too much is NOT AT ALL A PROBLEM you'd rather have far too much than too little. What thermal paste did you use?

My laptop is cpu i5 8300h with gpu 1050. Yes I have put Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut paste. The paste is covering the whole cpu and gpu die. I assure you, I have applied the paste in good amount correctly and covering the whole die.

Are you screw it in as hard as before you disassemble it

Yes, definitley I made sure the  cpu and gpu were attached to heat sink correctly and tightly. I watched tech videos for help before doing these steps. I made sure I had all the things needed to perform this task.

Yes, I checked the BIOS and it's the same. Yes My fans spin fast - MSI has Cooler Boost which makes fan spin fast. I don't mind it because I am getting performance out of it but last 2 months, it has been terrible. I can't use it properly. I thought maybe if I asked on forum, I could find an alternate solution but I think I am doomed. Thank you for help evrybody.

Either the heatsink isn’t making proper contact or the fans aren’t spinning. It’s really that simple. Nothing else short of the heatpipes being punctured or bent would cause 90C+ idle temps.

Fortunately both of those things are easy fixes.

I checked one again by opening my laptop and checked Thermal paste, checked fans and the contact that heat pipes were making with the CPU and the GPU. Right now as I type this on my laptop, the temperature is consistent at 85C and I have only chrome opened with 4 tabs, 2 other Applications open but not currently working on and that's it.
