Is this a good AC unit?

Any AC that doesn't have the radiator on the outside of the building is a bad AC. Look up how heat pumps work. It's basically just two radiators hooked up to a compressor. One radiator is colder than the air surrounding it, so any air that passes through it will get cooled down, i.e. it loses heat energy to the radiator. But that heat energy has to go somewhere, so the fluid inside that first radiator passes to the second radiator, which intends to get rid of said heat energy by radiating it off to the surrounding environment. Now since both radiators are still in the same room, it's largely a zero sum game you're playing. Sure, there are the exhaust tubes that are supposed to transport the hot air outside, but in practice this doesn't work too well, so the cooling effect of these radiators is minimal at best. You can see that a lot of the reviews mention many modifications that they've had to make to insulate the exhaust tube, because, since it passes right by the intake tube, the radiating head of the exhausted air heats up the incoming air intended for cooling.

ย

Honestly, you're just better off getting a decent window unit that specifically positions the heat radiator on the outside.

Here is a helpful video to show the points as to why a portable can be very bad.

Yes the model you picked does have two vents (in and out). But yes a window unit would be much better at keeping inside cool.

Assuming u use the window hose, for a portable unit looks solid. at least it uses a good refrigerant, not all AC's do.

I can't use a window unit due to my bed blocking off where the window opens, and the window being too big. Portable ACs wont cool your whole house, but it works good in my bedroom as long as you insulate the ducting. It helps the energy loss with portable units. It hit 110f here yesterday and it kept the room at about 73f while the rest of the house was about 84f because the ductless system in here is terrible.
