Is the 5600G worth it?

I am building a rig with my old parts for my gf but since there is ridiculous prices for gpus right now, i am wondering what kind of performance I’d be able to see on 1080P with a 5600G, would it out perform a 1050ti paired with a i7-7700HQ

No.

 

Although the new Radeon Graphics cores found in 5000 series APUs are very good, you can find them routinely beaten by even a GT 1030 in some cases (A 1050 Ti is about 50-100% faster than a 1030).

 

You still can't beat a dedicated GPU.

The 5600g will be slightly faster than a GT 1030 in some cases, and lose out in others.

 

The cpu portion is only slightly slower than the base 5600x chip.

It's a nice APU for 1080p low/med.

The 5600g was slower than the GT 1030 in 3 of the 5 benchmarks that Gamers Nexus showcased in the review.

Yes, I already corrected that.

When looking at the aggregated percentage, I don't think they'd be far apart.

Where are you seeing this?

Most of the comparisons I see are more in the 5-10% max range.

I took the average % in difference between all 8 benchmarks that Gamers Nexus provided, which is 14.43%. It slots in just barely above the Ryzen 5 3600, more-so in 3600X territory.

 

The tests proved the 5600X a lead of:

+11% in Blender

+6.2% in Adobe Premier Pro

+11% in Chromium Compile

+16% in Rainbow Six Siege (1080p)

+16.5% in Cyberpunk 2077 (1080p)

+11% in Red Dead Redemption (1080p)

+26% in F1 2020 (1080p)

+17.8% in GTA V (1080p)

I can assure you that it wasn't worth it. That's a lot of money that could've been better spent elsewhere or just been patiently held until prices were reasonable.
