AMD or Intel?

I'm currently looking at the HP ENVY X360 15" 2-in-1 laptop. The laptop can either be configured with an AMD or Intel processor.

Specs for AMD:

CPU: AMD Ryzen™ 7 5700U 8c 16t

RAM: 16 GB

Storage: 1 TB SSD

Price: 1199,0 €

Specs for Intel:

CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-1165G7 4c 8t

RAM: 16 GB

Storage: 1 TB SSD

Thunderbolt 4

Price: 1349,0 €

So my question is, which one is better?

If you need Thunderbolt get Intel.

If not, get AMD.

Intel will be a tiny bit faster in single-threaded performance, AMD will be much faster in multi-threaded.

Depends. If you want the extra cores go with amd but you be missing out on Thunderbolt 4 if that's important to you.

I would personally go with the Amd configuration because of the extra cores, less money and don't care about thunderbolt 4.

AMD, isn't USB-C good enough?

The CPU and Graphics are way better no?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

It has the xe graphics so pretty much identical.

Does have big driver problems in games due to new graphics.

Also sidenote this laptop WILL overheat due to the to low feet. Put like a pencil under it and watch the temps drop 40c or something stupid when in heavy use.

I dunno about the performance at play

but it's also going to be missing key features like radeon boost and image sharpening for a free fps boost in most games.
