The First AMD R9 295X2 ‘Vesuvius’ GPU Benchmarks Leaked – Faster than Dual 780 Tis and R9 290Xs

Mr.Duck

Now though I have no details about the benches apart from this picture, this i all we really need. The benchmark is of Bioshock Infinte tested at 4k Resolution and the card actually gives just a hair short of a solid 60fps. A lot of people were wondering how this would compare to a R9 290X Crossfire with XDMA and here is your answer. The fact that it outperforms a R9 290X Crossfire also tells me that this card is almost certainly a Dual Hawaii-XT core and the speculation can now be laid to rest on that regard. It also shows it beats not only the R9 290X Crossfire but the GTX 780 Ti SLI too and that makes it possible that the card could possibly be running at decent clocks (as opposed to under-clocked to preserve TDP ).

Secondly I must admit I am very impressed with the card’s performance  in these benchmarks though very disappointed that the GTX Titan Z was not tested alongside this card. Of course, since it was released just a few days ago they probably don’t have an engineering sample but a AMD Dual GPU benchmark just isn’t complete without a Rival Nvidia Dual GPU competing as well.  Of course the launch of this card will make the GTX 790′s arrival only a clock’s tick away. We know the card exists, it even had had listings before it vanished again, so its only a matter of time till we seethe face of the true Nvidia Rival (Titan Z isn’t really aimed at the Gaming Market)

R9 295×2: 57
GTX 780 Ti SLI (2x) : 55
R9 290X CF (2x): 50
GTX 780 Ti: 35
GTX Titan: 33
R9 290X: 30
GTX 780: 29
R9 290: 29
R9 280X: 24
HD 7970: 23

P.S: İTS F*İN WCCF TECH SO İT MAKES İT EVEN HARDER TO BELİVE, but İF it is true than i will stand up and go *clap* *calp* AMD good job, although i doubt it because that would be just insane :P

I think where the hybrid cooler shines is that it separates cooling for two different components on the GPU. i.e. VRM/RAM for the air cooler and the GPU for water cooler which is far away from the air cooler.

It makes cooling the entire thing much easier.

I have to agree, though I would like to see the non reference solutions to this. Possibly forcing card manufacturers like Asus/Gigabyte/XFX/Club3D/etc. to make some effective as hell, cool looking air coolers or to make their own Hybrid Cooling like what it looks right now.

ROG-GTX-780-Poseidon_1.jpg

Is it really that hard to make a good looking hybrid cooled card, is it?

When have AMD ever made a good looking reference card though? Still its nice to see it performs well... if this turns out to be true.

Unless this was confirmed some where else, I'd take this article with a grain of salt as it was released on april 1st.

Eh it looks a bit to aggressive for my tastes. That being said I'm still in love with the 560ti reference cooler so each to his own I guess.

Edit: Yay spelling mistakes.

Would be alright if it wasn't toy grade plastic.

Also, to hell with the haters, the R9 295x2 looks great.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

Feels like metal to me.

Or extremely thick and durable plastic.

I wouldn't call it "Toy Grade". I own one.

It's the way the light bounces off it. Just looks extremely cheap to me.

Reminds me of Carbon Fiber but without the lines or shininess honestly.
