so I have a PS4 slim and I want to eventually upgrade in a few years but should I get a series x or a ps5 because I want to be able to play stuff like fortnite and warzone with my friends for free but I am also gonna build a gaming PC so which one should I get I love my PlayStation it was way better than my Xbox one but the series x is pretty impressive but since I'm building a PC which one should I get I kinda want a cheaper one but I'll settle (NO DIGITAL CONSOLES)

The PS5 can play all of the PS4 games you currently have.

ok but which one is better overall

I mean honestly, its less up to the hardware at this point, and more about the exclusives either of them offer. You would be hard-pressed to find major difference in performance between the two. Pick whichever one makes your favorite games.

Thats a tough one, cus as for console i think the PS5 is better. (marginally)
But using it next to a PC the Xbox just has to many benefits to not go for that one.

Just the xbox game pass that will work on PC and xbox, So for both devices lots of games you can play.

(it feels free but you pay a subscription every month like Netflix but you get access to games).

You know the PS5 cant do 8k with good fps, right?  It'll be 4k in almost all games.

But if you have an 8k TV, you should have the best gaming system too for it.

like what does the series x have 8k

They both tout they CAN do 8K, but neither has the processing power to do it well.  Most games will run at 4K anyway.  It's like when 4K TV's came out, the PS4 and Xbox could DO 4K but not that well.

Besides, if you can tell 8K vs 4K on your TV from the couch when playing, your eyes are better than 99.99999% of people on the planet.

I'd go PS5, the xbox is pointless imo if you've got a gaming PC, there's no exclusives.

Lol, you funny.

The Xbox/PC do have exclusives they are shared however. (not with PS5 and Switch)
Maybe less exclusive that way, but more ppl are able to play.

Its time Playstation got back into the game and does some proper cross-platform stuff.

Not so long ago, if it came on a console and PC it wasn't counted as exclusive.

If you're building a gaming PC, get a PS5 as Microsoft is putting all their exclusives day and date into Xbox Gamepass which is on PC as well(3 months for $30) and they offer a $1 first month for new subs.

I have a PS5, Xbox Series X and a Gaming PC with a Ryzen 7 5800x and RTX 3070 and i rarely use my Xbox. I have a huge library of over 500 games on Xbox digitally that i dont want to lose as well(why i bought the Series X) and im big into Gamepass and console gets different games(like MLB the show, a PS game). but all the exclusives will be on PC gamepass.

Meh why does Sony need to release their games on competing platforms? It's not like Microsoft is going to put their big franchises out on Linux.

Cus everything games better on a PC.
And on PC you can choose Windows or Linux, cant do that with your PS5, just decide its gonna be an xbox by restarting it.

You're holding Sony to a standard you don't hold Microsoft to. Don't see why Sony owes it to Microsoft to make Microsoft's platform more attractive. The reason we get killer Sony first party titles is to get people to buy into the Playstation platform, almost like loss leaders. Exact same thing Microsoft is doing with their first party titles to get people to buy into Windows and Gamepass.

Also not looking to spend 3x to 4x the cost of a PS5 just to game at a similar level on Windows. I loved Windows gaming when I built my last system in 2014 since for $800 I got a GTX 970 + Xeon E3-1231v3 that was twice as expensive as PS4 but gamed at twice the framerate. Now the value proposition for PC isn't there, even before the ridiculous rise in GPU prices.

Lol, about missing the point completely, but ok.

All i was saying is PC is more versatile. If you just game sure be a console noob. But you can do so much more on a PC.
And Microsoft gets it, they release on Xbox and PC at the same time. Sony doesn't.

I was a PlayStation fan for a long time (having had the Ps1 2 3 and 4 when they mattered), but this stubbornness of limiting ppl what they can do. Combined with the just shit low amount of features on their pretty fast hardware, just makes me think like they either incompetent or just hate their customers.

Sad to say Microsnot does that part way better. DON't limit people!

And stop about the price of a console/vs PC you also gonna complain your Mazda 1 wont be a fast or luxurious as a BMW5 series?! hahahaha.

You're the one missing the point. Microsoft limits people to their own platforms. Don't see why it's stubbornness when Sony does it but Microsoft gets glorified for doing the exact same shit. E.g., they're not porting Starfield to PS5 or Linux so it's not like Microsoft offers you choice to play their games where you want. Both companies are doing it to try to lock gamers into their platforms to maximize expected revenue.

Don't get the Mazda vs BMW comparison you're making. I pointed out you're paying 3x to 4x console prices just to get console parity in games both now and at the PS5/XSX launch. Sounds like PC Master Race religion saying ridiculous things like everything games better on PC than console, especially now when the consoles this gen are pretty powerful. PS5 and XSX completely blow away the typical Ryzen 5 3600 + GTX 1060 systems that a ton of PC gamers are still running, and they're cheaper too.
