Let it dry out and then see if it works?

electronics actually don't hate water.

 

Electricity hates water.  

If you let it FULLY DRY OUT.  You've got a very solid chance it'll survive.

(If it was powered when you spilled?  Well, that's just making it a roll of the dice.)

Stick it in front of a fan and let the air dry it out.

 

How long?  At least 36-48 hours.  If there are any panels you can open up?  That'll help.

Wait around a day then test it out, worst that could happen is that it stops working

not until you've given it time to dry out.  You can't have electricity and water in the same place.  That lets out the magic blue smoke.

 

Also:  don't make more junk threads less than 20 minutes apart, this is still part of the old thread.

Don't put it in rice.  There is rice dust that can get into the component.

 

Rice absorbs water, yes.  Air drying does the same thing.

 

Leave it alone for a couple days, or put it in the path of moving air to help it.
