AVG flagging "https://lmg.gg/NiceHash" as infected with URL:Blacklist

Browser, version and OS: Chrome 91.0.4472.101, Windows 10 Pro

 

Steps to reproduce/what were you doing before it happened?

Have AVG Internet Security installed with its Chrome browser extension and try to load "https://lmg.gg/NiceHash" in Chrome.

 

What happened?

AVG redirects stating the website is unsafe.

 

What did you expect to happen?

Load "https://nicehash.com"

It's likely an issue with AVG but wanted you to know just in case.

 

If it's a cloudflare error, what was the ray ID from the bottom of the error page?

Get rid of AVG, if you need/want an antivirus use Malwarebytes.

URL blacklist isn't a malware or a virus, it's not infected.

 

All it is is AVG classified NiceHash as dangerous.

 

Ignore it and move on, there are no issues.

Most likely it's just text filter to catch "NiceHash". Pretty bad design imo. But you should be aware that miners and AV don't play along nicely. I tried with Bitdefender and it was nope on all avenues.

There is a number of malwares that mine coins on your computer for their creator's benefit without you knowing, and antivirus editors have decided to take the easy approach that considers that in any case mining = bad.
