I really don't recommend buying Video cards at Microcenter, except for some of their open box deals and refurbs (they had a bunch of refurb EVGA 580s last month for $130 a piece)

[AMD Athlon 64 Mobile 4000+ Socket 754 | Gigabyte GA-K8NS Pro nForce3 | OCZ 2GB DDR PC3200 | Sapphire HD 3850 512MB AGP | 850 Evo | Seasonic 430W | Win XP/10]

as somebody who works at Microcenter, our prices are best for Processors and Motherboards, usually Newegg and Amazon have been known to undercut us on GPU's. Good lord, I love Amazon. Without going too in depth, I get my CPU+MB at work, and usually end up getting GPU at Amazon. (There's almost no margin in GPU's so don't bother asking why I don't use employee discount when the discount is margin based so if there is no margin than there is no discount...Oh, the one exception is the crazy price gouging going on industry wide for the Radeon Cards, there's a decent discount for that, but I digress)

Micro Center price matches Amazon, Newegg, and TigerDirect, as well as all brick-and-mortar stores, excluding club stores like Costco.

But the tax :(

Consider it instant gratification tax and enjoy the warm, fuzzy feeling of supporting local business. Also, if you need to return something, it's a hell of a lot easier to just take it back to the store.
