530w low end raidmax power supply enough for rx 6800?

gamagama69

Hello, so if you haven't heard, rx 5700 and 57000 xt gpus are in demand for cryptoming, and often sell for upwards of $900, which can then be put into getting either an rx 6700 xt or 6800 if you're lucky.

I don't have my hands on a new card yet, but am selling, so I wanted to know if my current psu would be enough to hold me over for a few months without serious undervolting.

My cpu is an r5 1600, so it's not a massive drawer of power.

Also, when I do get a new power supply, what wattage should I get? Do I need a 750w, or would a 650w be fine?

edit: just looked at the pinned post, I likely would be using about 513w watts if an rx 6700 xt or rx 6800 has a similar power draw to a 2080 super. I also have a gt 730 in my system i use for it's vga out to a crt display, which probably adds another 20-40w

edit: just to be clear, this is an upgrade, I have a pc with the 1600 and raidmax psu already. I am planning on upgrading my rx 5700 to either an rx 6700xt or an rx 6800, whatever I can get my hands on for about $900

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

No. A low end one from Raidmax is a terrible idea.

It will hold the 6800 back in performance.

I know some people have had ok times with Raidmax power supplies but most of them are C and D tier so I wouldnt put anything like a 6000 series GPU with one, plus that 1600 is going to be a big bottleneck for you since first gen ryzen still didnt have that great of single core performance which is what you would want in games.

Main PC | AMD R7 3700X | Noctua D14 | MSI RTX 2080 Super XS OC | Corsair Vengence LPX 32GB DDR4 3200MHz | MSI B550A Pro | 1TB PNY XLR8 NVMe SSD | Kingston A400 960GB SSD | 2TB Western Digital Green HDD | Fractal Design Define R6TG |

Laptop (Asus TUF FX505DY) | AMD R5 3550H | RX560X | Crucial DDR4 16GB 2400MHz | Western Digital SN550 256GB SSD | PNY CS900 960GB SSD |

Phone | Samsung S10 Lite (128GB + 128GB SD card) |

Other Cool Stuff | Steam Link | Sontronics Podcast Pro | NZXT Hue+ | Corsair K70 MK 2 (MX Brown) | Logitech G402 | HiSense A7300 43 Inch 4K TV | Logitech C920 | Ender 3 Pro with Bulleye Fan duct and BLTouch |Sony PS4 | Nintendo Switch

I know that a 1600 will bottleneck, probably will upgrade to a 3600 eventually (can't do zen 3 without a mobo upgrade unfortunately). The raidmax psu is my current psu, sorry if I didn't make that clear. I am planning on upgrading my rx 5700 to either an rx 6700xt or an rx 6800, whatever I can get my hands on for about $900

What I'm saying is that I own it already, it's in my pc. I am planning on upgrading, but I want to know if it's something I need to do now or something I can do soon

The only good Raidmax power supplies are the recent Andyson R-based ones, and even those I would avoid just based on the warranty period.

Why spend $900(!) on a GPU only to skimp on a power supply and use a really low end insufficient one.
