2 x HDMI on GTX960 with Display port to HDMI adapter

Hey, I recently changed my motherboard and Intel cpu with a new one (Gigabyte B550 Aorus Pro V2 and Ryzen 7 3700x). Unfortunately I can now not longer use the HDMI on the motherboard because the Ryzen doesn't have integrated graphics.

 

I have two screens that have only HDMI Input and my GTX960 only has one HDMI output. So I bought a display port to HDMI adapter but it didn't work. The screen stays black.

 

Is the Adapter broken or am I missing something?

I tested the Adapter on both screens, they work without the Adapter but both don't work with it.

this adapter should be working fine for this, does windows detect that there is more then one monitor when you open the settings?
