i want a good .mp3; .flac player

i'm not looking for an online feature full software

but i want to play the music locally with preserved quality (ie, if you compare vlc and windows media player)

i'm currently using windows media player to play my music, but is it the best?

oh, free please

and nothing online; the simpler the software, the better

Again foobar, it just works for everything and is very customizable.

Plays basically any music format I've tried, and open instantly and can start playing immediately too.

Its a bit weird at the start as you have to set the layout up, so I'll link the TekSyndicate video on setup that is in everyone of these threads.

I use Foobar2000 and I love it. Logan has a setup video on the Tek Syndicate channel which explains how to set it up with the add-ons.
