Taping cables to the case

Is this ok?  Where I'm really thinking about doing it is under the motherboard (i.e. in the gap between the back of the board and the case).  I figure if the cables are taped down to the case, they have a smaller chance of touching the back of the board.

Yeah, I've seen some people say that.

 

Linus recommends it at about 4:14 in this video.  He doesn't suggest that it could cause any problems unless you put too bulky a cable back there.  It gives a much cleaner look, but I guess it's better to be safe than sorry.

Its not something I generally do myself, but I would be lying if I said I hadn't run a couple of fan cables back there in the past without a problem.
