How to reset pc to factory settings?

Ali Bongo

Hello,

I need to return a pc and I am trying to reset it to factory settings by going through Recovery and Reset this PC and Remove Everything.

However when I click Remove everything it says i need to insert Windows installation or Recovery Media, and restart your pc with the media.

I have checked the box and I do not have this.

Is there any other way to reset it?

hold down the shift button, while holding it press the restart button in windows, dont let go of the shift button. It will bring you to the recovery menu of windows.

There you can do a manual recovery or reset of the pc itselft.

Or you create a usb windows boot device, go to the windows website and get the latest windows ISO, then download a tool like win32diskimager, plug in your usb drive.

select the image in the programm, and select the usb drive connected to tyour pc and run.

after completion, do a restart, and either go into boot menu of your motherboard by pressing f11, f10 or f12 button multiple times depending on your board, select your usb stick and boot from it.

this will land you on the windows install menu, where you can choose again what to do. Either recover or reinstall the system 😄

hope this helps
