it's definitely a conduit for that behavior in concentration.

Thats not even remotely true. You could follow literally MILLIONS of accounts and not see a single tweet coming even close to resembling hate speech.

If you mean millions of inactive accounts, sure?

no, not at all.
"Twitter had 187 million monetizable daily active users worldwide." https://www.statista.com/statistics/242606/number-of-active-twitter-users-in-selected-countries/

You could easily find a million active accounts that just post animal pics and tech or whatever. Unless you actively search out hate speech, you will VERY rarely see it.

(while technically they didn't wipe all, they did wipe most) This is the 3rd site do this, second one being Pornhub

Can't you still access porn on Reddit?

There is still an NSFW toggle for Reddit in the iOS settings so I’m not sure how they got around the App Store rules when Discord can’t, especially since there is a LOT of NSFW content on the site if you decide to go looking for it.

If ios users want the policies changed, they need to make Apple care. Apple doesn't care about their users, they care about money. So I would to the thing that would cost Apple the most money: Stop using their products.

Apple will never change this policy because it want's its devices (just like Nintendo) to be family-friendly. Sony and Xbox, despite having some very-close to R-18 games on them, also do not permit that content.

The irony is that Apple is as pushy as 1990's Nintendo is when it comes to games that are on their platform.  Google's ad policy is ALSO even more pushy than Apple and Nintendo is. I don't know how often I'd get reports from Google about "sexual content" on a page, only to go to the page and see nothing worse than sideboob/butt-crack type of "nudity" in a cartoon context.

That's the thing, when an app is basically just a window into a UGC site, Apple and Google have no control over it. Discord, Teams, Slack, and so forth are just HTML5 webapps and all the "app" does is give the app access to the system notifications and hardware switching.

In theory, if you you make your app refuse to open NSWF content, you're "within" the policy as long as that switch can't be toggled from the app. It's the same as having an app support payments on the device without actually supporting Apple Pay, you setup the payment via the website.

Also if you do it this way, you inconvenience the user, which is why it's done this way, apps that don't support Apple Pay, are typically garbage apps, and software that has to put in child-safety-locks in the form of hiding the NSWF from the mobile app version, yet is visible from the web version on the exact same device, tells you how much Apple, Google, or even Steam really care about the issue.
