z68 to h77?!?!

so i have this Asus P8Z68 V LX, and i have an I7 3770K.
and a friend told me that an ivy bridge is smoother and faster with a h77 chipset becasue it natively supports pci-e 3 usb-3 and so forth.

also i have a evga 670 gtx ftw.

2 questions.

1. am i gonna feel anything different with a h77 chipset?

2. if so which one of these two should i get. (ONLY these 2 because i got a very good deal on both of them)

Gigabyte GA-H77M-D3H

or

ASRock H77M

I do not OC ever. don't need to. and never run any crossfire or sli.
and i have a usb3 hub on my desktop so front usb3 is not needed.
running win 7 64 bit up to date.

thank you.

if you want to OC it and get the best performance out of it you want a Z77 chipset

Performance wise you won't notice a difference specially with PCI-E 3.0 its a very very small difference in performance compared to 2.0 and if you already have USB 3 there is no need to upgrade at the moment.

you will be worse off with a h77 chipset. much much worse off z77 on the other hand, will be better, a gigabtye z77 ud3h will be fine.

The morherboard has no effect on any noticeable performance. Gpus have yet to fully saturate pci-e 2.0. The upgrade to 3.0 won't really make a difference.

Stick with your current motherboard and upgrade when you actually need to.

why did you buy a 3770k then? you like to pay more for an unlocked cpu and then not oc it and get free performance?

you said that you would oc it when it felt slow. right? if you oc'ed it now then it will never get to that point and you can just build a new rig when it feels slow. it the meantime it will be even faster and it being even faster isn't a bad thing right? its like if you had a car which was 'fast enough' and i said i was going to make it faster for free then you wouldn't say no, cos its freeeeeeeeeee speeeeed :P

let me be a bit technical here. I'm not talking about speed, i'm talking about lags and stutters and hangs.

the root of my question was. is there a difference between these 2 setups regarding lags stutters and hangs because most issues that mobo's create are lags stutters and hangs and freezes etc.

my pc might freeze for a second or two after a cold start once in a while. but i reckon its the mouse not the pc.

i7 3770k non oc + z68 VS. i7 3770k non oc + h77?

smoothness wise??

sorry if I do not understand a computer properly.

i understood i was just wondering why you had a nhd14, 3770k and a z68 board and hadn't oc'ed. it just doesn't make sense in my brain.

to answer your question: a h77 chipset will not effect lags stutters or hangs in anyway whatsoever.  :)

LOL. 2nd hand deals something yield the weirdest results.

I get a lot of laughs from people who see my rig and wonder why i don't oc.

but when you get a 3770k for 150 dollars, a nh d14 for 20 bucks. and a z68 board for a 50 dollars.

you just can't not buy them . hehe.

somethings i do buy from a store like ssd's and monitors.

cause they both can die at any moment. so a warranty is crucial.

You have, a 3770K.

And you won't OC it?

What was even the point in buying it?
