Not sure why I've been listening to this sort of music recently, I literally listen to everything apart from: Dubstep, Scream music (Where they literally scream down the mic etc...) and some "heavy metal" bands that should be classed as scream

The Big 4 have become old and slow. Well, Megadeth maybe being the outlier there. 

Overkill are still amazing as always though!

I wouldn't really call Megadeth an outlier. Their two latest albums were terrible. 

Super Collider was just plain bad, and Dystopia sounded like leftovers from Risk with Dave Mustaine ranting over them. 

I guess TH1RT3EN was OK, but it won't be making the annals of history either. 

 

I was always a bigger fan of Teutonic thrash, anyway.

That's true. To be honest, I have yet to hear their newest albums. So, I made a quick assumption from other people's thoughts on them. 

As for Sodom and Kreator, both outstanding bands!

I wouldn't say you should take my word for it either. 

Dystopia seems to be a love it or hate it album. I just so happens to hate it (and ohh, do I ever). 

It's not even like it's growing on me. Every time I re-listen to it I find something new to dislike about it. 

 

But I will say that some of the newer American thrash bands have caught my attention.

I have recently gotten into Skeletonwitch. What an insane band!
