Case fans - Noctua NF-A14 or NF-A12x25

LarryKoopa

Hello!

I am looking for a fan combination for cooling a case for a gaming PC. The case is a Thermaltake S300 TG with a Ryzen 5 5600X and a RTX 3070. The CPU cooler is a Noctua NH-U14S. I was almost decided to go with Noctua NF-A14, as the case can hold up to 3 140 front fans, 2 140 on top and 1 140 on the rear.

I have always thought that 140 is best than 120 but after some reading, everyone seems praising the Noctua NF-A12x25, saying it's even better than the 140 option.

What do you recommend me? I am looking for a quite build.

Thank you!

noctua a14 is better hands down. if it fits, noctua 140mm is a no brainer.

people praise a12x25 because it is better than other (non-Noctua)140mm fans. A14 is superior to A12.

the nf a12x25 is static pressure oriented so for use on heatsinks, radiators or restrictive cases. What case do you have? That would be one of the determining factors

The case is a Thermaltake S300TG.

I was going to get four NF-A14 and install 3 as front intake, and 1 as top exhaust, also leaving the included fan case as a rear exhaust. But now, with all reviews praising the NF-A12x25, I don't know what to do.

Thank you!

Considering that case, what you already planning is solid. Just a tip tho: make sure the top one place in the back, that will give a 2 degree cooler temp rather than the front (was experimenting with mine couple months ago, it went from 66C to 64C lol)

Thank you for the tip! Every degree counts. 😄
