Do i need more ram?

Go to solution Solved by SignatureSigner,

IF you are constantly hitting 16gb of ram usage from day to day work then yes. If I had your system I would have 32gb just out of the components you have.

Dual Channel is 2 sticks, in the right slots.  4 sticks on a non HEDT system (yours, mine for example) is still Dual Channel.

I recommend two sticks of 4GB or two sticks of 8GB 2600Mhz for Intel, assuming your motherboard can support that speed. Any higher is only useful for benchmarking scores and won’t improve user experience outside of some edge cases.

If you are solely gaming, and not playing hugely MODDED games, you are very unlikely to be using or needing more than 16gb of RAM.  If you are - close some of those chrome tabs.  If you dont want to close some of those internet tabs - get more RAM - wont make the system faster FYI unless you have a RAM bottleneck.

I think i do have a ram bottle neck, since my cpu is always at 60% usage and ram is at 95% usage while playing microsoft flight sim 2020

If you think you'd use it, go for it. RAM isn't a huge expense in the grand scheme of a build. You could also just throw in 8GB.

I think more recent Intel GPUs like 3200 too, it is also worth chasing a few extra FPS now 4k and high refresh 1440p is in reach for more and more gamers.

You mean Intel CPUs?
3600mhz is generally known as the sweet spot for price to performance, be it Intel or Ryzen.

It's also been shown that more sticks can equate to more performance, even if it's minimal.
