Do you think I should sell my Macbook pro?

Akolyte

Apple makes fairly good products, but they're a bit expensive. I still have my laptop so I can move it around my house. But, if you don't do that, I would say remove the SSD, replace it with something cheap, Apple approved, and effective. Then, sell it and get a really nice gaming rig.

I dont think the Mac Pro SSD have any different from a good quality SSD you can buy out there for a PC. When I bought my SSD I didnt even bother to look for the best one, I just go with the recommend by the seller, and after I install my OS on it my PC boot in around 15 secs or less, everything is smooth.

As for the decision to sell it or not, from me it might be a bit bias since I really dont like Apple's product, and my friend who had one cause he have to study programming for iOS dont like it as well, so it's definitely a yes from me. After you sell it you should be able to buy a really nice PC,like the one you put there or you can ask ppl here to build one for you giving a price point, or if you dont want to sacrifices the mobility, you can go for a gaming laptop, though I wouldnt really recommend it because it might look bunky and heavy to you if you already used to the Mac Pro, and the one that's slim and gaming capable is quite expensive, but well... not as much as the Mac Pro given what they can do.

My rig: Intel Core i7 4790k | MSI Z97 PC Mate | GSKILL Ripjaws X 16GB 1866MHz | ADATA Premier SP550 480GB SSD | Seagate Barracuda 3TB | Seagate Barracuda 2TB  | MSI Gaming X GTX 1070 | Thermaltake Versa N21 | Corsair CX550M Semi Modular PSU | AOC G2460PF 144Hz | Logitech G502 | GSKILL Ripjaws KM780  | GAMDIAS HEPHAESTUS V2  PCPartPicker | Old Build Log | New Build Log

Oh and @Mike_The_B0ss that PSU is way overkill, this will do you just fine and you can save a few bucks - http://nz.pcpartpicker.com/part/antec-power-supply-hcg620

Idk, I might stay with around that much wattage, especially if he starts to overclock. That GPU can pull 250w or so overclocked, or more if he really pushes it, and the CPU can go to 300 or so as well if he gets a good sample and tries to go to 5Ghz or so with it. IMO, it never hurts to have a little more power supply so long as it doesn't mean making significant cuts somewhere else.

Desktop: AMD Threadripper 1950X @ 4.1Ghz Enermax 360L  Gigabyte Aorus Extreme   Zotac 1080Ti AMP Extreme  BeQuiet! Dark Base Pro 900  EVGA SuperNova 1000w G2  LG 34GK950f & ASUS PA248Q Klipsch Reference/Audeze Mobius

Synology Wireless AC-2600

620w is perfect.
