Overclocking ryzen 5 2600

Ok, so I might be getting an aio today and want to know if it is possible to overclock my cpu, which I have already overclocked to 4.1 ghz, past 4.1 ghz, and without crashing and a possible frame boost

Don’t take everything I say seriously

I mean... if you're already overclocked, then the answer is yes. the AIO won't make it any worse.

That being said, any improvements are dependent on your specific 2600. You're already at the edge of what most will do.

Main: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti, 16 GB 4400 MHz DDR4 Fedora 38 x86_64

Secondary: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G, 16 GB 2667 MHz DDR4, Fedora 38 x86_64

Server: AMD Athlon PRO 3125GE, 32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 ECC, TrueNAS Core 13.0-U5.1

Home Laptop: Intel Core i5-L16G7, 8 GB 4267 MHz LPDDR4x, Windows 11 Home 22H2 x86_64

Work Laptop: Intel Core i7-10510U, NVIDIA Quadro P520, 8 GB 2667 MHz DDR4, Windows 10 Pro 22H2 x86_64

Probably not unless you really increase the voltage. 4.1Ghz is the highest OC most people can get at a reasonable voltage. In my opinion, 4.2Ghz is not worth the extra voltage and heat for marginal gains here and there.

The more I learn, the more I realise I don't actually know anything.

Recommendations: Lian Li 205m (sleek, pretty decent airflow for a non-mesh front panel and cheap), i5-10400f (Ryzen 5 3600 performance, 20% cheaper), Arctic P14 PWM fans, Logitech g305.

4.1 is nice for an all core speed on a 2600, I would suggest the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" approach. Are you using the stock cooler for this overclock? Replacing the cooler for lower noise is one thing, but if your OC is stable and the temps are reasonable, I don't necessarily recommend a cooler swap.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

No I have a random tower cooler with 4. Heat pipes

Are you upgrading for improved looks?

Then as long as it is not a really small radiator (120 or 140mm radiators are usually not an improvement from a tower and can even be a downgrade) the result should be just fine.
