If I were too poor to build one with components I wanted I would borrow a pre-built laptop or if need be desktop from family and if that was not an option I would just go without a computer. I would rather do that then throw my money away on Wal-Mart electronic components. I guess if you were in a bind and needed internet access for online school or something.....no....I would buy a chrome book. Yeah there's just no reason for me to buy from Wal-Mart. I once was an idiot and bought an $80 paper shredder from them. Out of the box it did not work. I vowed after that to never buy anything electronically from them again.

IIRC, PNY used TLC NAND in CS2130. Unlike what Linus said in the video.

I can understand if you had a bad experience why you wouldn't want to shop there again, but it doesn't really make sense in this scenario. If you're buying parts to build your own PC the parts are going to be the same as what you get from other retailers. They're not Walmart exclusive brands that might be inferior to other products. They're not selling Walmart brand CPUs. A sapphire RX5700xt bought from Walmart is still going to perform the same as a sapphire RX5700xt bought from Newegg or Amazon.

Given the shortages on things such as graphics cards at the moment you may as well buy from wherever you can get them.

CPU: Intel i7 6700k  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5 | RAM: 2x16GB 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX | GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080ti | PSU: Corsair RM750x (2018) | Case: BeQuiet SilentBase 800 | Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports | SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 500GB + Samsung 840 500GB + Crucial MX500 2TB | Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU + Samsung BX2450

Why are we humoring them calling this case "Leapatek" or whatever when there is an Enermax logo on the front plain as day?

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

So the mobo is MSRP at ~130$, and you bought it at ~205$ and thought that wasn't a bad deal?

And the affiliate link leads to a walmart link for 170$.

Hmmm....

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

I don't think one exists. Linus mentioned a tier list for SSD's in this video.

The problem with buying from Walmart is that they don't go all out with their PC component stock. They have always bought limited quantity and then they can take a few months to get another shipment. It's really annoying since they are one of the few online retailers that will price match their competitors, like Amazon and Newegg. The catch is that they have to be sold and shipped by Walmart, no third party resellers. In a more healthy market, they probably could have gotten this PC built for way less. Their stock tends to be EVGA, Corsair, MSI, Fractal Design, and Sapphire products.
