Help! I just got the demo and really want to play it. I have a i5 1135g7 and iris xe. Ik this is not ideal and I am fine with 720p 30fps. But I normally holds 30 fps but stutters to the point of being unplayable. I even have the setting at very low. High performance plan, hp oem drivers, and battery slider on best performance. HELP. My friend plays it and I want to. btw, for reference, on yt, people are getting 45 fps medium settings. EDIT: I now get 50 fps at 1600 x 900 on low settings. vs 28 fps at 720p very low settings. I was still using my gpu drivers from november and intel did a good job with these. I also disabled turbo boost on my cpu to help it run cooler! thank you to everyon who contributed!

It may be the amount of RAM you have. Any less than 8GB almost always causes quite large stutters in most games.

The more I learn, the more I realise I don't actually know anything.

Recommendations: Lian Li 205m (sleek, pretty decent airflow for a non-mesh front panel and cheap), i5-10400f (Ryzen 5 3600 performance, 20% cheaper), Arctic P14 PWM fans, Logitech g305.

Open your task manager and click on performance tab.

Run the game.  In the middle of a race, pause the game and alt tab to the task manager and you will see what's pegged.  Look at the cpu, ram and gpu usage.  That should point out your bottleneck.

Cpu is at about 60 and gpu at 80. I also saw 12.3gb of ram used

ya, but i am fine with 30fps 720p, but still, It stutters. It is smooth there. I could try intel's generic drivers. would that help? And https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dE9RSjLxpA4

That isnt 45 as i previously said, but it is less stuttery. and it is on medium.

wouldnt recommend. stick with validated drivers for your system.

You check to see how much ram is allocated for video?

I don't know if your machine allows you to do that.  If so it's likely in the bios.

You may have 4gb for video and 12gb for cpu.  If you can allocate 6gb for video and 10gb for cpu and see how well it does.

Also check your game's graphical settings.  Turn everything to low.

You may also want to check it's power settings.  Make sure it's not on power saver or you're on battery.  Set it to max power settings.  Make sure it's also not running too hot.

Then you may want to throttle down your cpu.  High clock speeds and the cpu will throttle down.

So, I have it half and half split for allocated ram. It came that way. Ill try a 6/10 split and the cpu was running 80℃. I'll look at getting a cooling pad. I had game settings as low as possible and high performance power plan.

80C is hot.  Lower your clock speed by using throttlestop.  See if it helps.

ok thx man 🙂 ill try now! Now I am locked at 2.4 ghz 😕 but, It now runs at 72 under 100% load woohoo! I hope this will help 😕

Let me know if it affected your performance.

I just thought of something.  You can turn off hyperthreading or shut off a couple of cores.  That might run your cpu a little cooler.

I have a 6C12T cpu.  I'll try turning off HT first.  If it's still hot then I'll turn off 2 cores but keep HT on.  It's a pain in the butt.  Laptop gamer problems I guess 🙂

Ok!!! It runs better and I can increase my graphics. But it still stutters occasionally. Hmm.

Your cpus are pegged.  Maybe if you can raise the ceiling a little bit.  Turn turbo back on but limit how high your cpu run.

Try my suggestion earlier.  I think your's is 4C8T.  You definitely don't want to turn any cores off.  Try turning off HT but keep turbo on.  See how it goes.

HT does affect your cpu temperature from what I understand.

I thunk I am running out of ram. It is at 14.3/16. I need to find out how to remove some from the gpu and add some to the cpu. I looked in the bios. Not sure.

I am simply sitting on the menu, then it black screens for a second and crashes! No error report. Low settings 100fps normally. HELP! My pc is on high performance plan. i5 1135g7 iris xe 16gb ram. I am using the latest drivers. I had stuttering problems in forza horizon 4 so I abandoned that. In the demo it ran perfect. Now it crashes. It doesnt crash when I am not on wifi, but I want to play multiplayer. edit: i rolled back to 1913 of version of the drivers and still have to test.

Hello, I had big problem with stability in FH4. Game crashed after few minutes or even don't open. I was searching everywhere and trying everything. Only one thing helps me, disable Nahimic (like Realtek e.t.c) in services. Game is working fine, so you can try this.

nvm, it does not show up in system configurator. I can not disable it 😕 EDIT: i found ONE service for realtek audio. I disabled it.
