i7 10700K vs i9 10850K?

Both prices :

i7 10700k : $362 (Scythe Fuma 2)

i9 10850k : $398 (need better cooling)

Pair with 3060 Ti

Getting Z590 motherboard.

For $40 more, I would definitely go for the 10850k. You'd basically get 10900k performance with that CPU.

The more I learn, the more I realise I don't actually know anything.

Recommendations: Lian Li 205m (sleek, pretty decent airflow for a non-mesh front panel and cheap), i5-10400f (Ryzen 5 3600 performance, 20% cheaper), Arctic P14 PWM fans, Logitech g305.

Recently went through similar dilemma.

Went with the 10900kf and don't regret it at all.

If I choose the 10700k, I can get scythe fuma 2 is $55.

If I choose 10850k, then I need better cooling like galahad 240 for $120 and my case is p360a (not very big case)

No, you could theoretically even use a budget air cooler like a Hyper 212 evo for the 10850k, not that I'd recommend doing that. In this video, he's using a 10900k, and the Hyper 212 LED keeps it under 70C when the power limits aren't removed.

I am using an EVGA 360 that I got on sale. (also because I had best buy bucks so it was cheaper even)

But as shown above, you can get by with much less if your workloads aren't intense.

@Mister WoofI'm just gaming 1080p240hz streaming and secondary pc, so what should I get my case only support 240mm at the top and I don't like aio at the front.

Scythe Fuma 2 is quite good for price, if you can find.

@Mister Woof scythe fuma 2 is now in stock in retailer now so should i get it for 10850k based on my workload?

I think it should probably be okay based on linus' video

that said, i would probably rather have a big air like a D15/Deepcool Assassin III/DRP4, but the Scythe Fuma 2 reviews very well. If those coolers don't fit and its that vs. a 240, i'd rather have the Fuma 2, personally.

I would say a big air cooler is pretty much on par with most 240s, if not better or at least quieter. If you can fit it, i'd rather get that.

@Mister Woof scythe fuma 2 is better or on par with nh d15s (I was planning to get), probably fuma 2 is better buy.

Eeeeehhh disagree.

It's good, don't get me wrong, but it's not in the same ballpark as the D15/DA3 on high power CPUs.

On lower end stuff, sure. But pushing 200w+ like an i9 will, the big air will perform a lot better.

@Mister WoofI'm talking about the d15s (single fans ver.) and I'm not getting d15 or DA3 because of ram clearance.

Then like I originally said the Scythe Fuma 2 is a good option if you can't fit the big air coolers.
