What PSU should I get?

lerodemmy

I’m starting a new build soon with a 3090 FTW3 Ultra and either a 5900x or 11900k.  How many watts do I need to comfortably have enough?

Also, does gold/platinum/titanium matter much?  I haven’t had any problems with the EVGA 1000w G+ I’ve been using for the last year.  Just wondering if there is any real benefit to stepping up to platinum or titanium.

There are benefits, but none that you would see in your system. The only benefit is reliability and peace of mind. Just fewer chances of your power supply failing.

However, if your 1000W G+ has been working fine, there is no need to upgrade. It will serve you fine even with a 3090.

Your current PSU should be fine.

Reliability is unrelated to efficiency.
