What's the best trustworthy bang-for-buck PSU manufacturer?

ArtyIF

Hello, I'm planning out my potential PC build and I want to ask about what is the best bang-for-buck PSU manufacturer which PSUs also won't burn down after I start up an intensive game.

I'm checking all the components on Yandex.Market (a Russian aggregator from various stores that also aggregates electronics). Most of the top positions are taken up by be quiet! PSUs, which are pretty great according to reviews. But they're also not the best priced, so I started searching for cheaper alternatives since my budget is pretty limited.

My current target PSU is 700 watts or more, is either semi- or fully modular and has at least 80 PLUS Gold certification. I have checked the PSU tier list, but it doesn't really tell the price, and in a single tier they vary from something I can afford to really expensive seemingly-server-oriented stuff.

Each PSU vendor... I won't say manufacturer since listing them by brands doesn't mean they make them... has good and less than good units.   It's like asking what car manufacturer makes cars that don't break.  None of them.

Look at the PSU tier list for specific models...

Ignore the brand, and ignore anyone that recommends by brand. Everyone is equally capable of selling crap.

Well, that would indicate that you have a very high end system. >700W, so I assume a 3080? You should try to stop cheaping out on the PSU, or, if you don't have a 3080, tell us your actual specs.

:)

The PSU tier list doesn't exist for the value comparison, only the quality comparison.

If you want a good unit, target the A tier and then compare the units in that tier that you can afford, and ignore the ones that are too expensive.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

We try not to say "bang" for buck when talking about power supplies.

My current PC plan that uses that PSU has a Ryzen 7 3700X, two SSDs (M.2 PCI-E boot drive + my current SATA drive), a B550 chipset motherboard, 64 gigs of 3200 MHz RAM (might be overkill but who knows lol) and I'm going to reuse my current 1050 Ti if the situation with GPU shortage doesn't get solved by around July, which is very likely. If it somehow does, then I'll switch to a cheaper build (one half of the budget is GPU and other half is the rest) to compensate. But I plan to install at least 3060 Ti or an RX 6700 XT. Or maybe better, depending on how much more money I can get.

I'm just afraid that I'll hit the wattage ceiling, seeing how much the newer GPUs consume.

You don't need a 700W for a 3060 Ti/6700 XT. 550 W is plenty. Reviews of the 3060 Ti indicates that it can be powered with a quality 550 W no problem.
