I appreciate the no VAG posts as sometimes I miss the notification on youtube that a video dropped and then the "no VAG" saves me wondering if there was one or not. I understand I would miss it but still appreciate the notice.

Is the potato quality 3080TI @ 10:15 in the Bait & Switch video the clue we've been waiting for? LMG has tons of b-roll of this card by now -- why use such a poor, almost thumbnail quality image, while still hand making an animation to get it on the screen?

 

Is it a "10% performance improvement" visual gag because the quality of the image is poor?

Is it just the crazy getting to me, or does it look like there's a QR code hidden in the cooling fan to anybody here, too?

It seems to me more like a "it's crap not worth it's price" kind of teaser.

 

GPU prices are starting to get back to normal. If the drop would happened, it would be some AIB, resulting in like 1800$ pricetag most likely. There are place where u can get 3080tis for not that much more. At this point, I'm not really sure if there is any point in VAG anymore.

Yeah, that doesn't really look like a QR code at all, the pattern doesn't match any of the bits of pattern needed for a QR code to work (there are set points in the corners that have to be there, and a certain amount of the checker pattern, but a lot of that is error correction hence why text or logos can be put in QR codes).

I do think VAG is going to start trailing off but it seems like supply and demand issues will be a problem for the next few months at least, though the ti cards are a pretty shit deal, if it's all you can get then it's kind of, well, the only good option even if it's a stupid price hike for the performance improvement.

I won't be talking about everyone, but for me for example, it is not always convenient to check the video at the moment. So i have this topic pinned and when the new video comes out I quickly look if there is "no VAG" message in it. If so, I can continue doing things I did and watch the video later. If there is no such message, I have to spend some time to make sure there is no VAG fast forwarding + subs "hack". And I will watch this video later anyway in full. So yes, it really helps.

Though I do remember the video where they did the voice over for the first time that i missed. As I wasn't expecting this, I fast-forwarded it looking for a change in scenery and decided that there is no VAG, and I definitely wasn't the only one since there were "No VAG" comments to this video )))

The point is that there will always be people looking and reporting, so you don't need to in the first place. If there's a page of "VAG!!1!1!!" posts here you'll know there's one, otherwise it's safe to assume there isn't. You were already relying on a single person anyway, and they're not going to stop looking for drops because we ask not to post if there isn't. We just ask to post positives instead or negatives. 

Instead of everyone getting a notification every day and jumping here "maybe there's one!!" just so see "no VAG", better keep the thread quiet and reduce the notification spam so that when you get one it's more likely to be that there's a drop.

You didn't see my post right below that? No, thats not enough. Being "in talks" and having AIB "able to allocate" doesn't mean anything until the units are actually at Creator Warehouse and ready to be dropped. For all we know, there might still be another middleman incident. So until I hear/read/see concrete in form of "we have them", I don't allow more spamming in this thread.

With market recovery appearing to be on the horizon, I'm not sure if there will be any more VAG drops.  That said, I'm very glad I wasn't able to get any of the cards through the drops.  LTT probably didn't even make enough off those cards to cover their costs, but those cards had to be sold to them at inflated prices. At the beginning of June I grabbed a AMD 6900XT for less than the VAG Asus 6800XT.  Recently sensible retailers have been selling 6700XTs for ~1000USD.  "Having stock" is moot if you're getting ripped off and being that these crazy prices are most likely from the distributor level, LTT can't really offer better prices than retailers, or anything remotely resembling the actual MSRP.

Yes, good point. Here in Canada, the market seems to recover visibly. I was finally able to get a 3080 Ti earlier this week, when MemoryExpress dropped a few cards in a local store. When I arrived there, I was surprised to see that they also had 3060 and 3070 cards sitting on shelf. The deliveries they get are still often single-digit quantities, but nevertheless they seem to drop more frequently (according to staff).

The cards being in stock hasn't been issue for months in some regions, like Europe and Asia. The problem has been high prices due low amount in stock. Currently trend is that also prices are coming down since the demand isn't as big and used markets are getting their share too.

I meant stock at MSRP. MemoryExpress has stock in a few locations in Alberta and Ontario in Canada. I actually paid slighlty below MSRP, because I bought a bundle with a new PSU.
