Gigabit broadband in Vancouver BC

jimm_eh

Hello to LTTF members who live in Linus' back yard,

In a few months I'll be moving to Vancouver. We're still looking for a place, but it's 98% likely going to be downtown, in the Coal Harbor/Stanley Park/West Side/Yaletown quadrangle.   Who's good for broadband up there?  Looking for gigabit up/down (or better) ideally.  Reliability is a factor, I am willing to pay extra for it.

I'm coming off AT&T gigabit fiber here in Los Angeles.  I work in VFX and often have to move lots of data (I think I've moved over half a terabyte on just this one gig since October).

I am medium-skilled with networking setups and so would lean towards providers that are amenable to such customers.

TIA

I've always used telus fiber with no problems, uptime is like 99.99% or something, basically only seen it go down once or twice a year and it lasts less than a minute.

There is Novus which is cheaper and apparently better but only available in some buildings, so you'll have to check depending on where you move.

I think linus uses telus at home, or at least in the past until he wanted more than 1GBps.
