Setup Ubuntu on Mac Mini without Display

markusvs

Hi guys.
I have an old Mac Mini 2011 with broken Graphics and I had the idea to turn it into a homeserver running ubuntu server.

Problem is: I have no idea how I can setup ubuntu without screen output. I have a bootable stick but that's pretty much it.

I hope you guys can help me. Thx!

You can't. You cannot install an OS without display. You can run it without after it has been installed, but not before.

Well, if the main storage is removable, you could install the OS in another machine, setup RDP/VNC type access and then transfer the drive back across.

Would be trivial on a PC, but Mac might make it more involved...
