Is the Noctua NF-P14S Redux any good?

My case has a really constricted filtered intake so I'm planning to use this fan as an intake. Is it a good idea?

Shoot for the 1700s if you can find them cheap enough. I missed that boat. I could have had them for like 15 bucks each during black friday sales.

AMD R9 5900X | Thermalright Aqua Elite 360, 3x TL-B12, 2x TL-K12

Asus Crosshair VIII Dark Hero | 32GB G.Skill Trident Z @ 3733C14

Zotac 4070 Ti Trinity OC @ 3045/1495 | WD SN850, SN850X

Seasonic Vertex GX-1000 | Fractal Torrent Compact, 2x TL-B14

I have a question related to those Redux fans...

My cooler is a Phanteks TC14PE, old version with F140HP fans

I also have a couple of P14s Redux 1500. What is your opinion, are Noctua Redux 1500 good replacement for the F140HP or should I keep the stock Phanteks fans (which, honestly, aren't that bad)?

PS: forgot to mention, I'm cooling the Ryzen 3600 clocked to 4.3 GHz at 1.275V, so both of these fans should do fine performance wise...

The Noctua will move more air and have a higher static pressure, but they also have a slightly higher max rpm.  I would plug them both in and see which ones you find the most pleasant to listen to.

What do you mean "1700s"?

Yeah, it's 1300 RPM on Phanteks vs. 1500...Noctua does have more presure but it's louder (according to specs). I'll have to think of a way to connect them on a header and have a listen before I mount them on a heatsink...any idea how?

I ended up buying the 1500 one because they're the only one available in my region. But the 2 fans I ordered is already noisy enough so I don't think 1700 RPM would be preferable for me lol.

Nice man. As you just found out the cost of high performance is noise 😄

High performance and silence almost never go hand in hand.
