So it only has to do with the modem and the way it handles traffic and not with the cable type category nor the network card installed on the PC?

Yah, there is some latency added by the cards and cables but you're talking 1-2 nanoseconds at best

Hello everyone

I was wondering if there is a way to decrease the latency from the modem/router to Pc

I tried 3 different Isp's modem/routers which give the following results when pinging (using hrping for sub ms results) the default gateway

Modem 1 : Results : 0.600ms to 0.800ms

Modem 2 : Results :0.500ms to 0.700ms

Modem 3 : Results : 0.300ms - 0.500ms

The cable used is cat6a s/ftp 500mhz around 15meters

I've seen some other posts that can go low as 0.100 -0.200 ms

My question is does the ethernet  port has its own delay? can it be reduced ? if yes how?

Will a different cat cable reduce the delay even more?

Thank you for your time! 🙂
