DT 990 PRO without amp

I've been in your situation before, like a year ago. These will NOT sound good without an amp. I really, really suggest looking into the X2HR from amazon. I have a review comparing the 990 pros with the X2's

err.. Yeah, have fun with that. These are 250ohm headphones, and usually the maximum ohmage you can really use with a phone is 60-100ohms before the headphones will start to sound too "weak-" where it lacks bass, and volume in general. It depends on the phone and headphones of course, But I'd say you're not going to have very much of a good time without an amp. I'd try the 32 ohm variant.

I am NOT a professional and a lot of the time what I'm saying is based on limited knowledge and experience. I'm going to be incorrect at times.

An amp is needed. If you want similar performance that is at 32 ohms the beyerdynamic tygrs are the way to go right now. They are a retuned 990 32 ohm and sounds much better than a 32 ohm 990 cause of it.
