3600mhz ram in a b450 tomahawk max?

Want to get Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB at 3600MHZ. Before I buy it, will it definitely work in that motherboard ?

 

On the MSI website it says

 

Supports 2667/ 2800/ 2933/ 3000/ 3066/ 3200/ 3466/ 4000/ 4133 MHz (by A-XMP OC MODE)

 

My cpu is a 3600 ryzen

yes, if it supports 4133mhz, it definitely will handle 3600 just fine.

Whether you can make use of it all will also depend on your CPU.

Either find something called XMP or D.O.C.P and just enable it and let it be on stock values..

I went for 16GB of ram at 3600mhz for a speed increase rather than getting more ram ( 32GB ) as I've monitored my ram usage in games like cyberpunk and it rarely goes above 50% usage.

 

Does that sound right ?

 

Also for a bit of RGB lol

16GB is fine, should be plenty for average Joe. If you don't use all the ram, the only benefit to moving to 32GB spread over 4 dims would be for the dual rank performance.

Do you mean quad channeling?  As far as I know 2x8GB in alternative slots ( 1 and 3 or 2 and 4 ) gives dual channel

there are single and dual channel

but also single rank and dual rank

for max performance you should have 2x dual rank ram stick or 4x single rank ram sticks.

on single channel all the ram chips are on the same side of the ram. saw a pic from the website. also if they would be dual rank, they would mention it
