Crypto mining, or not?

Go to solution Solved by minibois,

1. you're not going to mine bitcoin, you'd mine another altcoin

2. just check how much your videocards would mine ("Radeon R9" is a series of videocards, not a specific model)

3. check how much power costs

once you have done 2. and 3. you will probably see it won't be much profit, considering the hasrate/watt ratio.

Hi, I recently got a new laptop that has replaced my desktop. I was thinking that maybe I could use the desktop for Bitcoin mining or something like that. It has an rx 580 8gb and I also have a Radeon r9 that I might be able to throw in also (not sure if that would work though). It also has an i5-9600k if that matters, and a 16gb ddr4. Cooling on it is really good if that’s a requirement. Is it worth it to start mining? How much money might I make? Any advice? Thanks!

You'd probably make more money just selling the system.
