So I wanted to make a bad with about 50 drives, but for the good of all good things I cannot find a motherboard with enough connectors. Do I need a special expansion or something? Thanks In advance

You'll need a PCIe expansion card, most likely.

What platform do you want for it - LGA3647, TR4, TRX4, Epyc?

What case are you gonna put 50 drives in?

 

NOrmally storage servers have a hba or raid card, and a sas expander to support large numbers of drives.

Well, I’m thinking epyc for this build.
