How do I figure out if I can upgrade my laptop's RAM and what the limit will be?

I've got a HP laptop (system model HP Laptop 15-dy1xxx) with an HP 86C9 MoBo (version 56.32). The installed physical memory is 12 GB, however I plan on running a program that will need around 64 GB of RAM.

 

How can I figure out if this can be upgraded to 64 GB of RAM (or at least 32 GB)?

Have a look see if there is a bit under the laptop wher you can unscrew and see

You can start by downloading and reading the manual of your device.

You have a few ways of going about this:

1. look on the official product page for information on this
2. look for a ifixit guide or something of the like
3. open up the laptop and check for yourself
4. wait for me or someone else to do this research for you

It appears that you cannot upgrade the memory in this laptop according to this support document.
