I am not sure of the issue, since Android can eat a lot of battery quickly, but I will leave @_ASSASSIN_ to help. (sorry other Assassin :P)

My rooted one does the same too. I sometimes switch to 3G to save battery. :(

You answered your own question. The Android OS is using that much battery. My Droid DNA does the same thing. 20-30% overnight

It still shouldn't go down 20%. My Nexus 5 will only drop about 4% overnight. There's got to be a problem with the OP's unit.

If I were you, I'd get it replaced. There should be something in the warranty that if the batter falls below a certain percentage of it's original capacity, then they'll replace the unit.

I doubt it's a defective unit. The OP, me, and my mom all lose similar battery percentage over night. So unless by some odd chance we all have defective phones, it's just normal.

I used to own a HTC One and it was never that bad. It would drop 7-8% at worst. The Droid DNA is a little old to make a valid comparison to a phone that is probably a few weeks old, if that.
