About:config (Firefox) GUI option?

Edward78

I read about something called GUI:Config (I think) A FF add on, but someone said it only let you edit some options.

That is a decade old article, that might changed since then (probably did). In case of chrome, I know for a fact that in order to change some flags, you have recompile chromium with different options. That also might valid here.

XUL add-ons don't exist any more (security issues, pain in the ass to write for, etc) which were powerful enough to do this, so you won't be able to get an extension like this today

What is it you are trying to do? About:config is advanced settings for Firefox. It has search and most of the values are true/false. Besides them, there's .css file if you want to tweak UI of the browser. You may need to tweak both to get some things to your liking. Like I'm running custom theme/settings combo.

It updated to Firefox 84.0.2 & the address bar is the mega bar again, the way I got it to go to the clssic size last time is no longer a option. There is this, but crap Mozilla, why not give us a easy way? https://www.askvg.com/tip-the-best-working-method-to-get-classic-address-bar-in-mozilla-firefox/

Its been like that since Quantum version came. I have used custom userChrome.css since then. There's currently some issue with "Other Bookmarks" folder showing on Bookmark bar where it shouldn't show, but haven't got around to see if there's a fix for it.

And this .css doesn't have the "megabar" issue. I haven't made changes since, This is all I have in that file:

/* TABS on bottom */
#navigator-toolbox toolbar:not(#nav-bar):not(#toolbar-menubar) {
 -moz-box-ordinal-group: 10;
}
#TabsToolbar {
 -moz-box-ordinal-group: 1000 !important;
}

#TabsToolbar {
 display: block !important;
 position: absolute !important;
 bottom: 0 !important;
 width: 100vw !important;
}

#main-window:not([chromehidden*="toolbar"]) #navigator-toolbox {
 padding-bottom: var(--tab-min-height) !important;
}

#tabbrowser-tabs {
 width: 100vw !important;
}

#TabsToolbar #window-controls {
 display: none !important;
}

Is how I did it when it first appeared, but the expandonfocus is gone now,  ignored cause I added it & no change. I can just cut and paste that to the .css file right? I made the file, cut & pasted, nothing changed? Also the file in link seems to do nothing, crap Mozilla the new look sucks.
