Razer viper mini drag from sensor ring removable?

I have a viper mini and the sensor ring isnt made of ptfe and increases drag alot. Is it possible for me to remove the ring and sand it down or smth? Or would that decrease consistency

remove the sticker > put some cotton or smth on the sensor > put some tape around the ring > sand it down with high grit sandpaper > remove all tape and cotton and reattach the bottom sticker > done
