Gearbox Purchased License to Homeworld Games, To Release Remastered Editions

If you never had the chance to play Homeworld and Homeworld 2 then there is some good news you should hear; if you did play them then the news is even better!   Gearbox is not just re-releasing the two games they have redone the cinematics, models, textures and effects, plus support for up to 4K resolution.

It's a pretty brief article, but I'm excited. Gearbox bought the license for the game series from THQ after the bankruptcy and decided to update the visuals and cinematics, as well as support for 4K resolution.

The game, in a nutshell, was a space RTS and a pretty good one. My favorite part of the game was deathmatch with tons of resources. I don't know if you can still install the original games on modern OSes (last time I tried I hit errors).

If they can deliver a better visual experience and support for 4K resolution, then I will absolutely buy this game. I really hope they release it on Steam too :)

We can all agree, discs are not always optimal.

I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason and intellect has intended us to forgo their use, and by some other means to give us knowledge which we can attain by them. - Galileo Galilei

I cant imagine they could break the games that much revamping the textures, models, effects and cinematics, but I'm not gonna hold my breath.
