Over the past couple months, I've been looking at different build and consulting this forum for ideas and I think I have finally come to a final build. I'm looking at using a Ryzen 5600x paired with an MSI RTX 3070 Gaming X Trio (When it comes back in stock at msrp((yes, I know that will be a while)). Comment your opinions on it below.

NOTE: I'm reusing a 2 TB hard drive so overall I'll have 3 TB of storage which should be more than enough

Looks really good to me. Only thing I'd personally change is adding a 1-2 TB HDD along with the SSD. I personally like having a second drive to go alongside my boot drive. Then if I have any games I don't care about fast load times on I don't have to worry about them cluttering up my boot drive. And it's nice having a second drive to keep backups on in case anything were to somehow happen to your main drive.

I mostly speak from my own past experience from similar problems. My solution may not work for you, but I'll always try my best to help as much as I can. If you want me to see your reply, make sure to quote my comment or mention me @WaggishOhio383, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Please use the mesh case not the one with plastic sheet in front of the fans. It was made fun of right after it launched and for good reason. Adding ARGB to it does not improve thermals.

AMD has been dropping new 5600x stock consistently. The problem will be getting the GPU. I'll probably just reuse my old GPU until the Gaming X Trio is back in stock.

What's wrong with Windows 10 Home exactly? I've used both home and pro before and I don't find that the differences matter that much for general use (gaming, school, web browsing, etc).

I actually like how the mesh looks more than the transparent front panel. it looked eh and of course, bad thermals.

I think hes more talking about the fact you can get keys for windows for like 10 on the grey market. I personally wouldn't but Idc if others do.

Quick note I am reusing a two TB hard drive from my old PC. Also founders edition cards are close to impossible to find and probably will be like that forever. Thats just what Nvida does

My personal preferences - your build looks great except I would try and get NVMe over SATA.

No worries. I assumed it'd be academic.

For a 1TB drive this seems to be the best value at the moment. TLC NAND with DRAM cache:

This one will do, but does not have DRAM cache, so it's quite a bit slower.

why would you need an optical drive anyway? It is not a must-have since 2012...

sure it is good to have it, but not for 30$, or what ever price they offer it for

Optical drives are handy, and I've always deducted 2 points on any build review.

I usually say "ignore the optical drive part" but I guess I didn't this time? 9/10.
Oops.

I don't really have any need for it seeing as I'm not anywhere near needing a work computer. Plus, I have an old prebuilt and windows 10 home has pretty much all of the features I need so that's why I passed. Also windows 10 home is cheaper and it's a way to cut costs and fit better hardware into my budget.
