I am looking a getting a Ryzen 7 5800x. Are the heat "problems" people talk about actually a problem that will hurt my cpu/components or should I be fine?

What heat problems?

You have a great airflow case and a 240mm AiO. I don't see this giving you any problems at all.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

A bunch of online reviews say that it runs really hot

Can you send me any links of these reviews?

If anything, Ryzen 5000 CPUs run very cool for the performance they have.

The cooling you configured is more than enough to keep it cool. You could probably get away with a much cheaper and smaller cooler if you don't care about overclocking.

The temps in all these reviews are still fine and within spec. Nothing to worry about.

these are the temps of the tjunction of the cpu, basically the hottest part of the cpu die, a feature of the new amd cpus. That temperature is considered high if it is above 95 degrees celsius.

Will give my results with a 5800x since I scoured the internet for this exact info.

5800x at default, with XMP 3200/14.

Aorus B550 elite-2

Scythe Fuma2

Antec p280 case

Idles 29-33c.

CPUZ stress test:  82c after 15minutes.

Cinebench r20   86C after several runs.

Cinebench r23  Hit 90C after several iterations at which point I stopped it.

Gaming:  Averages low 70s, peaks high 70s.

Single cores hit 4.84Ghz, all core stress tests settle at 4.516Ghz indefinitely.

I didn't buy to play r23 all day, so I am satisfied.  There is room for improvement though.
